PGE is committed to finding sustainable and affordable options to meet our customers’ growing electricity needs. Over the next decade, we expect to meet nearly half the growth in electricity demand through energy efficiency.
PGE has developed an Integrated Resource Plan outlining our strategy for meeting future energy needs — and cost-effective energy efficiency plays a key role.
As a starting point, helping customers save energy can be more efficient and cost-effective than building new sources of generation. The more energy our customers save, the fewer power plants we have to build to fill the gap between electricity supplies and anticipated demand.
Energy efficiency alone won’t meet our region’s growing power needs. But as the lowest cost, most sustainable choice, it’s a beautiful start.

Connecting customers with resources
Together with Energy Trust of Oregon, we expect to capture 214MWa through our customers’ energy-saving measures by 2015. This is enough electricity to power roughly 170,000 homes each year. To get there, we have a number of resources available:
